My Review:
This has been the most trying time for me and my sister not only dealing with Covid in the last 6 months but my fathers death in June. My sister and her husband who live in Seattle Washington came down to west palm beach Florida to help me deal with the death of our father but also to move my mother to Washington state to live with them. It lasted for 40 days with 2 caretakers and both of them working from home. My mother, a young 76 years old has been diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia and has a short term memory of 2 minutes.
We were at a loss of how to move forward with my mother and getting her the care that she needed. My father didn’t leave any moneys for help for her care except for the sale of their apartment in Florida which I am currently handling. But my mother needed immediate assistance. My husband asked Joanna Monroe if she knew of anyone that could possible assist in guiding us.
April Sage, senior housing advisory services, wholeheartedly took on the challenge and has been so supportive thru this journey and still holding our hands thru this process.
It’s amazing to me for someone who is a complete stranger to care so much for the well being of our mother as well as for us.
She has truly found her calling in life in navigating families thru this tough transition.
We have been truly blessed to have found April.
Sincerely,
Mary Klorfein

Review for Senior Housing Advisory Services
Craig S - son of client Jan S. July 15, 2020
I have experienced many nursing homes and assisted living facilities as a family member providing support to my grandparents and parents. These efforts involved searching for the right fit of a residence followed by moving in. As well as moving out of facilities when the care was not meeting standards. All of which is to say that I'm very familiar with the anxiety and frustration surrounding the process of finding a residence for loved ones. Seemingly simple questions such as meals, medications, cognitive and physical exercises, personal safety, and financial planning have the ability to prompt more questions than answers.
My experience with April with the recent placement of my father was a significant and meaningful process for all involved. Senior Housing Advisory Services made an investment of trust, energy and talent in assuring that my father was welcomed into a community of care providers that were dedicated to his health and well being. April made time to ask all the right questions of our family to narrow the list of possible residences. April and her team worked with us to gather required paperwork and background history to support us in our efforts to support those that are caring for my father.
In the past, I have moved loved ones into several residences with the help of siblings, always feeling unsure and anxious about my decisions, including having to rely on my own intuition as to which residence may be the best fit. I now know there is a far better way to effectively navigate this process. Having April and her team side-by-side with my father, my family, and the care providers allowed for a level of advocacy and empowerment that I never knew existed. I will be forever grateful and humbled for the efforts that April and Senior Housing Advisory Services made on my father's behalf.
